DETAILS
A slice of late-'70s/early-‘80s Fender history, this 1980 Fender Lead II is an all-original example of one of Fender’s most underrated vintage models. Crafted during a time of innovation at Fender’s Fullerton factory, the Lead Series offered something unique – compact body shapes, simplified wiring, and punchy single-coil tones with a ton of character.
This particular model comes finished in what was originally Black, but over time has naturally aged to exhibit subtle dark green/brown hues, a common and charming effect of vintage finish oxidation and clear coat yellowing. It’s a great example of how a guitar can wear its history with pride.
The guitar is in good overall condition, with natural colouration and playwear consistent with its 45-year age. There are signs of use, but it remains structurally sound, plays great, and the frets still have plenty of life. Please refer to the photos provided – they form part of the item’s description.
It comes in a vintage-style oblong hard case (Fender-style) for safe storage and transport. This is a commission sale and includes a 6-month warranty from us for your peace of mind.
